This dual motor driver is based on the L298N heavy-duty dual H-bridge controller, which can be used to drive two DC motors at up to 2A each, with a voltage between 5 and 35V DC - or one stepper motor or 2 solenoids with ease. The driver has a nice heatsink to keep the L298N cool and all driver lines are diode protected from back EMF.
The driver can control both motor RPM and direction of rotation. The RPM is controlled using PWM input to ENA or ENB pins, while of rotation direction is controlled by suppling high and low signal to EN1-EN2 for the first motor or EN3-EN4 for second motor.
There is also an onboard 5V regulator - so if you're using between 7 and 12V DC to driver the motors, you can connect the jumper to allow this voltage regulator to supply 5V to your L298's logic circuit. If your supply is greater than 12V, remove the jumper to prevent damage to the voltage regulator. However yo'll need to supply external 5V to the L298's logic circuit otherwise your motor will not move.
Note: The L298's hard break function is not supported.
